When it comes to direct selling, you are your boss and have yet to invest so much money that you are hesitant to work. Dreams play a significant role in the direct selling industry, and setting goals is the key to success. Surprisingly, only 3% of people write down their dreams, but this 3% owns 90% to 97% of the world's wealth. To begin, I want to share a story that greatly inspired me during the early stages of my career.
Once upon a time, a boy was the son of a poor horse trainer. However, he was fortunate enough to attend a prestigious school because his father worked in the stables there. One day, his teacher assigned the class a task to write about their dreams. The boy, just like all his classmates, wrote about his aspirations. His dream was grand and took up seven pages of detailed writing. He envisioned owning a horse ranch on 200 acres of land. A 400-square-foot house would be his home, and he would have the best horse breeds worldwide. He also wanted to create a farm that people would dream of visiting, and he would be able to meet successful people worldwide.
When the teacher read the boy's dream, they thought it was impossible. The teacher said, "The Goal Should be realistic". The vision you have written about is not possible for you. I am failing you. I'll give you another chance; take your time and come up with a dream that you can truly achieve."
The child said that he couldn't change his vision. But his teacher insisted and said, "Think about it carefully before making a decision." He went home and talked to his father about it. His father said, "This is an important decision for your life. I want you to make this decision yourself." For a day or two, the child was disappointed, but then he went to his teacher and said, "Ma'am, you can fail me, but I can't change my dream."
What happened next has become an inspiration today. It is not a fictional story. It is the story of Monty Roberts, a renowned horse trainer. After 20 years, he lived on a 200-acre horse ranch with his 400-square-foot home. Today, he has been awarded a Master's degree by one of the world's leading universities.
